The mayor of Kocaeli identified information and communications technology (ICT) as a top priority for the region, and the mayoral office and local Ministry of Education have led the project.The One Computer Per Child Project distributes Intel® Education Solutions solutions to all public-school sixth-grade students in the region and their homeroom teachers. The goal of the project is to support social, educational, and economic transformation by increasing ICT fluency and creating a career pipeline for future hardware and software professionals in the region.Intel commissioned a study with local researchers from Anadolu University and SRI International to understand the initiative’s vision, successes, and challenges. This document summarizes the research findings to share key learnings—what worked, what didn’t work, what could be improved—with other interested parties.
